El Norte, película Anglo-Americana (dirigida por Gregory Nava) fue nominada por un Oscar en 1985.

Dos jóvenes indígenas (Zaide Silvia Gutiérrez and David Villalpando) se van de Guatemala huyéndose de persecución étnica and política.
Siguen al norte por México hasta los Estados Unidos en un viaje peligrosa (y a veces chistosa también).

La película va ser seguida por una discusión sobre trabajadores migrantes y la situación política en México con Luis Granados Ceja, recién vuelto de México. Pablo Vivanco hablara sobre la necesidad de una organización juvenil latina en Canadá.

El Notre, anglo-american film (directed by Gregory Nava), was nominated for an Oscar in 1985.

Two indigenous youngsters (Zaide Silvia Gutiérrez and David Villalpando) leave Guatemala fleeing ethnic and political prosecution. They travel to the north through Mexico to the United States on a very dangerous (and at times humorous) journey.
The film will be followed by a discussion on Mexican migrant labour and the current political situation in Mexico by Luis Granados Ceja, who recently returned from Mexico.
Pablo Vivanco will speak on the need for a latino youth organization in Canada.
