Eva-Lynn Jagoe

Eva-Lynn Jagoe, a Professor of Latin American and Comparative Literature, was appointed Director of LAS@UofT in July 2009 to July 2010. Professor Jagoe taught at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and at the University of Essex before joining the faculty at the U of T in 2006. She writes and teaches on Latin American literature, film, and visual art, with a specialization on Argentine culture from the nineteenth century to the present. She has written various articles on Argentine film, travel writing, gender, psychoanalysis, and language. Her book is entitled The End of the World as They Knew It: Writing Experiences of the Argentine South. She is currently writing a book on listening in film, literature, and theory, and is also researching social movements and collectives in the nineteenth century.
