Diana Raby is Senior Research Fellow at the Research Institute of Latin American Studies, University of Liverpool (UK) and Professor Emeritus, Department of History, University of Toronto, having taught at UTM for many years. She has many publications on modern Latin American and Iberian History including Educación y Revolución Social en México (Mexico: Secretaría de Educación Pública, 1974), Populism: a Marxist Analysis (Montreal: McGill University Centre for Developing-Area Studies, 1983), Fascism and Democracy in Portugal, 1941-1974 (Manchester University Press, 1988) and Democracy and Revolution: Latin America and Socialism Today (London: Pluto Press and Toronto: Between The Lines, 2006). Diana has also long been active in solidarity movements and progressive political causes in both Canada and the UK.
